Eduardo de la Cruz Cruz
has an MA from the Universidad Autónoma de Zacatecas and is currently studying his Ph.D. at the University of Warsaw’s Faculty of “Artes Liberales”. He is the director of the Instituto de Docencia e Investigación Etnológica de Zacatecas (IDIEZ), and co-director of the University of Utah’s Summer Nahuatl Language Program. He teaches the Nahuatl language at more than five universities in the United States. He organizes workshops on Nahua language and culture, as well as activities that contribute to the revitalization of his mother tongue in the communities of Chicontepec, Veracruz. He has published two books, Tototatahhuan Ininixtlamatiliz (2015) and Cenyahtoc cintli tonelhuayo: huahcapatl huan tlen naman (2017) and is co-author of other publications written in Nahuatl. He has conducted research on the continuity of ceremonial practices concerning the cultivation of corn in the Huasteca Veracruzana; his current research focuses on how the beliefs and practices integrating Nahuatl ceremonies contribute to well-being.
