The nexus between gender and immigrant integration has primarily been studied in the context of Western European countries with a long tradition of migration. However, in the context of Poland, there is a clear gap in research on the integration of immigrant women. Although the literature related to Western European countries provides a valuable knowledge base, an analysis of the Central and Eastern European context is essential. My presentation shall contribute to a broader analysis and reflection on this issue. The scope of the concept of integration I apply defines it as a multifaceted process of inclusion, going beyond policies at the central or local government level. This will allow me to analyse not only the specialised programmes offered by the state but also initiatives undertaken by non-governmental actors to support refugees in Poland. The key questions I intend to analyse during the presentation and as part of further research concern the role and inclusion of gender the perspective in the governance of immigrant integration policies. In addition, I also hope to critically analyse these issues by drawing attention to the inequalities and challenges faced by refugee women in Poland.
